Publication Ethics

Foreco: Jurnal Kehutanan dan Lingkungan is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and takes all possible measures against publication malpractice. This ethical statement follows the guidelines and best practices of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

1. Ethical Responsibilities of Authors

Authors must ensure that their manuscripts are original works and have not been published or submitted elsewhere. Proper acknowledgment of the work of others must be given through appropriate citations. Authors are required to ensure the accuracy of data and results presented in the manuscript.

Authors must disclose any financial or non-financial conflicts of interest that could influence the interpretation of the research. All authors listed must have made significant contributions to the research and approved the final version of the manuscript.

2. Ethical Responsibilities of Editors

Editors are responsible for deciding which submitted manuscripts should be published based on the manuscript’s academic merit, originality, clarity, and relevance to the journal’s scope. Editors must evaluate manuscripts without regard to the authors’ race, gender, institutional affiliation, or political beliefs.

Editors must maintain confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and must not use unpublished materials for personal research. Any conflicts of interest must be disclosed, and editors should recuse themselves from handling manuscripts where such conflicts exist.

3. Ethical Responsibilities of Reviewers

Reviewers assist editors in making editorial decisions and help authors improve their manuscripts through constructive feedback. Reviewers must treat all manuscripts as confidential documents and must not disclose any information about a manuscript under review.

Reviewers should conduct their reviews objectively, identify relevant published work that has not been cited, and report any suspected ethical issues, including plagiarism or data fabrication, to the editor.

4. Plagiarism and Originality

The journal strictly prohibits plagiarism in any form, including self-plagiarism. All submitted manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection software. Manuscripts with plagiarism levels exceeding the journal’s acceptable threshold will be rejected or returned to the authors for revision.

5. Multiple, Redundant, or Concurrent Publication

Authors should not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously. Publishing substantially similar research in more than one journal without proper citation is considered unethical.

6. Corrections, Retractions, and Expressions of Concern

When significant errors or ethical violations are identified in a published article, the journal will take appropriate action, including issuing corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern, in accordance with COPE guidelines.
